Youtube res options

So I just got internet capable of streaming 4K, so I went to Youtube  to try it out, and I noticed that half the "4K" videos I went to didn't have 4K options, and the ones that did, the 4K didn't work, it looked like 360P.  So I tried IE, and ALL the videos had 4K and worked.  I reinstalled Chrome, same thing.  Any ideas what is wrong?

You're probably changing the resolution while the video is playing. If the gear icon is spinning, that means it's still working its way up to the desired resolution. 

 

I personally use a Chrome Extension that makes every video the highest possible quality.

I don't know...  How do I check, and what should I be running?

You can check here. https://www.youtube.com/html5 If it says use default browser, click it and then see whether you can play 4K videos now.

That's the uploaders fault.

Now the video isn't 4K for me... this must be a Youtube issue
