New 3080, one of my PCIE refused to go in for some reason, how strong are the PCI E ports?

OnlyAxolotl

Just installed a new Gigabyte 3080

For some reason the PCIE wouldn't install properly that I use on multiple GPUs, I checked it against another cable and was identical. It kind of sat on top of the Port but refused to go in. Had to force quite a bit I had assumed the inward pins needed stretching or something. It didn't work

Eventually used another cable. It was 100% identical pin for pin as the other ones

I'm worried my forcing it could have damaged the solder keeping the male pins in place on the GPU.

It turns on and works, how strong are

they?

your referring to the psu cables? if so, the solder joints for the power sockets on the pcb of the gpu are pretty strong, i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah I mean the male pins already on GPU that the PCI-E connects to.

you mean these? GPU Power Connectors Explained [Simple Answer] - GPU Mag

or these?Broken connectors / pins on graphics card - Super User

sorry, but your phrasing is confusing.. if it's the top picture, those should be fine, they are quite strong, if it's the bottom, they aren't as strong. either way, if the card is working alright, it's most likely just fine.

Most are directional, having made that mistake before, check if one end says PSU
