Is my backlight CCFL or LED?

Hello,

 

My current monitor is beginning to dim and light back up quite often. It's quite old, I got it around 2012. It's an ASUS VH232H.

 

I was looking into how to replace the backlight, which is what I expect is going wrong with it, and there are two main bulb types I ran across, the CCFL, and the LED. 

 

I just want to know if anyone has any information as to whether this monitor is one or the other. I can't seem to find any information online about the bulb types. I believe I'd prefer to attempt to fix this issue, rather than buy a new monitor, since I'm sure it'll be much cheaper to repair this one, rather than buy a new one.

99% certain its CCFL backlit. Does it get noticeably warm when used at full brightness? I guess it would be hard to tell now that its not working fully. 

 

As for it being cheaper.. that depends on what your time is worth. LCD's have improved significantly since 2012.

Thanks guys, sorry for the delayed reply, been quite busy. I'll do some thinking and decide whether to buy a new monitor, or to attempt this repair for the first time.
