hey everyone!

i have a 2011 27inch imac that is equipped with a radeon hd 6750m, a bad card for it's age and an even worse one nowadays

i also happen to have a broken 2014 24inch imac laying around that is the host to today's questionable swap, a gt 730

would i be able to put the 730 in my working imac, for some extra gaming horsepower?

(i only have time to play stuff like sims 4 these days, and even these kids of games walk instead of run on the aging 6750m)

gaming system: Intel core I9 12900ks / biostar Z690A valkyrie / 4x8gb corsair Vengeance @3333Mhz ram / RX 7900XTX pulse gpu / Thermalright peerless assassin 140 /Coolermaster Qube 500 case / Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 12 1500w power supply

laptop: Dell xps 9510, 3.5k OLED, i7 11800h, rtx 3050 ti, 2x16gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz, 1TB main drive, 2TB add in ssd

There is no such thing as a 24 inch 2014 imac. Closest thing is a 21.5 inch model released that year and it has just the integrates graphics. And the 27 inch imacs of 2014 have a dedicated radeon r9 m290x. In fact, except for the latest m1 macs there is no 24 inch iMac to my knowledge.#

edit: The higher end 2013 21.5 inch imacs have a gt 750M and the 2012 models have a GT 650m.

There is no imac with a 730 or 2014 24 inch imac.

As for swapping no can do. They might be mxm but they are not swappable for a newer model it just doesn't work.
