In a few months I will be upgrading my gaming rig with a new CPU MoBo and RAM, and also an AIO.

Never had a liquid cooled PC before, are there any tips you have for an AIO noob like me? Im going with a Corsair H1501 Elite Capellix 360mm AIO for what will be a 5800x when I get round to buying it in a couple months.

What maintence do i need to do on it? Other than dusting to rad off every month or so? Do i need to do anything to the liquid inside it or.....?

Yea in that couple months zen3d will prob release, dont plan too ahead of time

Also aio is overkill and uneccesary cause 5800x dont need that much cooling, also you are most likely not overclocking anyways, even if you do overclock id just tell you do undervolt instead

A cheap tower like the se 224 xt will prob be enough for a 5800x tbh

Could you also give full system specs and what you are planning to upgrade to along with uses? Maybe we can suggest a better upgrade or ways to optimize your current build so you dont need to upgrade for awhile

Also theres gonna be some huge discounts due to black friday so if you havent upgraded your gpu or havent gotten a new gpu then nows the chance

My 3070 is literally arriving today so XD I want a new cooler, because I want one. I know it wont make much difference in terms of cooling I just wanted one cos literally everything else is getting an upgrade so why not the cooler too.

Well what is your current cooler?

Maybe just upgrade to another aircooler like nh d15, drp4, or macho.  Aios usually last ~5 years and usually permeation or dead pump kills it, but aircoolers are literally just a hunk of metal, fans are easily replacable once they break every decade or 2, aka aircoolers never become useless, if theres no mount then theres always diy engineering

Been using AIO's for a decade or so and had one fail. As for maintenance, its a sealed system so all there is is cleaning the rad it which is no difference than an air cooler, just make sure its free of dust via any method you choose.

As for which models, if you want the best performance you want to look at Arctic or EK. Corsair is.. fine, if you want to dive into the all corsair software controlled eco system.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro
