Help planning a first PC?

jxss

Budget (including currency): Under £1000 (GBP)

Country: Scotland, UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Used primarily for gaming, wanting to run games such as Minecraft and Phasmophobia, but would appreciate the ability to run larger games.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): No current parts, keyboard and mouse needed, would like to have two monitors eventually and system like windows also. Not upgrading from anything, first PC. Going to buy hopefully soon, aiming for January 2022. Resolution doesn't have to be higher than 1080p, refresh rate to be relatively fast. I'd also like to be able to have it colour themed, preferably white/pink. Thanks!

Don't bother planning until you're ready to buy. You're going to get completely different pricing on the components.

With a budget like that, you're going to have a hard time being picky with colour options.

I would say see if you can get ahold of a decent  video card for a decent price first and see what you have and how much money is left later.  Which GPU you wind up with will inform what  the rest of the system will be.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
