Intel Optane 900p AIC

Skias

I've got this SSD and I'm trying to determine if I currently can make good use of it in a build. I originally bought one during the Star Citizen campaign but what with intel gen 12 processors and boards, I wondered if I could put this to use in a build. Anyone able to lend some advice?

Just put it in and use it as your main OS drive, it will speed up almost everything.

I'm using one as a boot drive on an older desktop. Doesn't really feel any different to another high end SSD. In benchmarks you'll lose out on sequential speeds, especially PCIe 4.0 ones, but you'll destroy any other consumer tier SSD in low QD random reads by a huge margin.

Unless you're really rich I'd assume you have the 280GB model. If so, obviously that's on the small side today, so you'll likely be wanting to pair it with more storage.

Thanks for the response! I have the 480GB model, I might pair it up in an intel machine and use it then. Thanks for the insight!
