I register & hit the button to continue & it nothing happens?

For one, there are no separate accounts between mobile and desktop. It's Internet service with multiple ways to access. Second, it's most likely sending you link to email for verification and to continue. It's been couple of years since I last did this so could also be just hiccup in service.
