Macbook Pro OS problems

Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch "Core i7" 2.2 2015

 

This is the computer I am working on for a friend. I am trying to re-install the OS on it, and I have not had any luck. I have run the command + R keys, and got into recovery mode. When I select the drive I wish to install the new OS on, it looks like it is working, and then after a few minutes of the progress bar moving, it gives me an error every time about not being able to prepare the install. Any help. Please. I don't really know if I am missing something, and I have checked around trying to figure out what to do.
