Hi Guys,

Today I opened my GPU 2060 Super OC From Gigabyte to replace the thermal paste, since I never did it and I bought in 2019. So I used the high density polysynthetic silver thermal paste and now my GPU is working even hotter, about 86 Celsius and before was 83, under the same circumstances as before.

Here is my rig so I don't believe in air flow issues! What could it be, add more paste or use another one? I didn't replaced the VR thermal pastes.

Looking forward to hear from you guys.

Thanks

AS5 is outdated not to mention performs like mx4, a much newer, cheaper, and non conductive thermal paste

Maybe look at getting mx4, gc extreme, kpx, or kryonaut

I found the Artic MX5 I guess should be better than MX4 in terms of thermal conductivity right? Does it worth replace the thermal pads too?

Got the MX-5 and it is awesome, more stable, less frame dropping.

what's the temps diff between mx5, silver & stock?

Didn't see much difference between stock and silver, actually when I cleaned out the stock paste which was dry and used the silver, my temps went high from 2 and up to 3 Celsius more.

MX5 made real difference. Please note that I use my GPU to play and stream when I sometimes, because I don't have a PC stream.

  1. When I am just playing and not streaming MX5 was capable to drop my temps from 2 and up to 7 Celsius depending of the game and what is happening on the screen, I play in 1440p, 144 refresh hate.
  2. When I am playing and streaming as well the MX5 is holding my card at 83 Celsius doesn't matter what is happening and when there is no much action on the screen it can drop to 80 or maybe 79 or 77, for me it is a great relief already.

Temps will for sure vary due to workload, but I could honestly feel a more stable behavior from the card fans and resulting in a stable frame hate also.

Cheers
