Suddenly no video

Go to solution Solved by Kiro04,

It works again!

I had to update my drivers. Im lucky to have someone whos gpu i could use. Otherwise i couldnt have figured it out.

Thx to CommanderAlex for the help.

Thread resolved, worries gone.

Specs:

Asus rtx 2060

Ryzen 5 2500

2x 8gb ballistix ram

Kingston 1tb sata ssd

Msi b450 gaming plus

Windows 10 64bit

Bequiet 750w psu

Problem:

Played fh5, pc freezed. Usually means bluescreen incoming on my machine (have experienced bluescreens before but not lately). Pressed the reset button before the bluescreen came up. After that my boot debugging led usually lights up und it doesnt post but after restarting the pc with a long press on the power button it always worked. Now i suddenly have no video.

Steps ive already taken:

Ram reseat

Gpu reseat

Switching ram sticks around

Reseating cables

Removed dedicated gpu und tried iGPU

Different cables  (dp and hdmi)

Different monitor

If you reset the cmos by removing the battery and putting it back in, then ive tried that too

Pls help

Thx in advance

There is no such thing as a Ryzen 5 2500, only Ryzen 5 2500U, which is a mobile processor. What processor do you have?

Only Ryzen processors with a G suffix have a dedicated iGPU.

Have you tried another PCIe slot with your RTX 2060?? Do you recall any of the reasons for the BSOD that are listed at the bottom??

What debug LEDs, if any, are you hanging up on?

Sorry, cpu is a ryzen 5 2600

Didnt know they dont have an igpu

Tried another pcie slot, no success.

Have fan spin, no debugging leds lit up.

Bsod reasons were mostly but not exclusively memory related, but i dont recall the exact words

That's ok, I just wanted to inform you.

Have you tried with just one memory stick in the 2nd slot away from the CPU?? I would also try (with the system turned off) to turn the switch off on the back of the PSU, hold the power button in for 5 seconds with the CMOS battery removed, insert the CMOS battery, flip the switch on the PSU back on, and try turning on the computer. Do you know if you had a XMP profile enabled on the RAM?

Does the debug led for the VGA (graphics card) turn on if you remove the graphics card from the system and try turning it on?

Or even try with RAM, remove all RAM modules.

The vga led doesnt light up when powering it on without the gpu

I suspect the motherboard is defective. The motherboard should light up the VGA led if there is no VGA detected or not found. You can try the RAM or even the CPU to see if those are lighting up.

Ram led lights up without any ram and the fans spin at max rpm

Usually, when the fans on hardware run at max RPM means there is a hardware fault here. I haven't seen that happen with no RAM being detected though. Are you able to try another graphics card in the system?

Wow! That was quite weird to see the graphics card being the problem all along. I'm glad you were able to have a friend give you their graphics card to try out and see if the system boots.
