Best way to do an egg drop for physics class?

char3327

Hey y'all,

So for my high school physics class we are doing an egg drop, and I was wondering if anyone knew any good, consistent methods? The only rules are that it has to weigh less than 50g, has to cost less than 10$, and it has to fit in a 10cm x 10cm x 8cm box. It will be dropped from a height of about 2.8m (9.2ish ft). Thank you!

The outer shell should be cardboard to protect it from edges and to keep the inner shell inside.

The inner shell should be cottonwool to dampen the egg's movement. Fill every gap with it.

Both materials are light and cheap.

Maybe use some tape to make sure, the egg stays in place and doesnt get between the cottonwool and the cardboard.
