Nvidia Driver 496.76 and BF2042

Optiks
Go to solution Solved by Optiks,

well i feel very dump now...

after much testing i still couldn't figure out the problem

until i noticed a red flashing light on the 3080ti...

i have a corsairTX850M PSU and the card is connected with 3x 8-Pin of which one is splitted

i think the problem is the card can't get enough or the right amount of power from the PSU

so i ordered a EVGASuperNOVA 1000 P5 1000W PSU which has the capability for three independent 8-Pin Cables

let's see if this solves the problem but i'm pretty sure this is why everything is kind of weird with my system

Edit: i didn't see it at first cause the card is vertically monted and i mounted a corsair watercooling block on it 馃檪

Hello everyone,

i hope this is the right forum for this.

I updated to the new Driver from the 16.11 and since then i get the directx error ingame and a sugestion to update my driver.

I know BF2042 is a mess rn but the performance improved a bit with the driver, but i can only play for like 5 mins til the game crashes.

Everything else runs fine and stress tests/benchmarks were fine too. Is it just BF or is there st wrong with the newer driver?

With the 496.49 driver i didn't get any crashes, but the game would only run at around 40fps.

Latest BIOS, latest Windows Updates(W10 not W11)

i have an Asus Rog Strix 3080TI OC so i think there is an OC going on, but i'm not sure if i can put it in a "non-oc" state very easily

i tried underclocking a bit, not very heavy but it didn't change a thing

You can try running DDU and seeing if that might help. It can find hidden display drivers and delete them.

Are you running the GPU in max power mode? The setting is in Nvidia Control Panel.

yeah i had that before with the .49 driver

i enabled it now again with the .49 one and i get around 70 fps on medium which is confusing cause with the exact same settings i got 30-50 fps yesterday

haven't tried the newer driver but i think i will stick to the older one now, till i figure out whats precisly wrong

thanks for the help聽鉂わ笍
