0 idea on GPU choice.

hevi

Hi. Ive got a Palit GTX 650 Ti Boost (This one) currently paired with a i3 4160.

(I know, not great, but I get by)

On the fb marketplace I spotted an R7 250 2GB, for 30€. Is there any chance it might be better that the 650 Ti? Cause I just cant find straight up comparisons for these exact GPU's. Should I get it or should I keep my 650?

Specs

CPU - I3 4160

GPU - GTX 650 TI Boost

RAM - 16GB

PSU - 450W

(I plan on upgrading the PSU aswell)

Thank you for the help in advance 😇

An R7 250 is unfortunately a few tiers under your current GPU, so definitely don't get that. You're going to want at least an RX 460/560 or GTX 1050 to justify an upgrade.

I highly recommend this hierarchy list from Tom's Hardware for quick and dirty comparisons.

I wouldn't bother putting any money into that system. Just save up and grab something better; it all needs to be replaced (if you're sinking money into anything).
