im still trying to use samba, but now, my issue is diffrent, as well as the host system.

Instead of my share saying to contact my network admin t access it, it now says ¨Access is denied¨

The sustem is being hosted through lubuntu 21.10, accesed on windows 11,

I have the share on a stock config with

[sambashare]
   comment = test
   directory = /home/usr/sambashare
   read only = no
   browsable = yes

at the end

So I go to windows

open run

enter
"//server.ip.this.thing/"

and it opens file explorer, network, that sambashare folder is there

I try to open it, and it has me login

I go to the host system, so sudo smbpasswd -a usr

and it asks me to put in a password

i do, then repeat it, it says new user added

I login to the share, and it closes the login windo, it reopens, and now has red "Access is denied" text

Whats wrong?

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

add your user(s) to the share in the samba conf

[sambashare]
   comment = test
   directory = /home/usr/sambashare
   writeable = yes
   browsable = yes
   public = no
   valid users = usr usr2 usr3

This did it.

Though now, it does work, it has some weird issue.

i can get only 700kb/s writes over it, and it cant deal with large files.

I t gets about 5mb done and the says tehre was a network error

I could use some help with this!

What file system is it using? Sounds like you might be on fat32? I recommend for various reasons besides just large file support that if it is, you switch to ext4

It’s probably ext4, right now I’m using the boot drive for the test
