I live in queensland Australia. mobile phones are not designed for our climate, and my pixel 3 overheated so much that the battery expanded and pushed the back glass off.

Is there a way to reduce power consumption, by underclocking, or forcing components to stay off, or reducing the resolution? battery life isn't an issue here, it is energy use per second, and the ability to dump that into the air.

My use case is google maps on a shaded dashboard, in summer.

I now have clip-on active cooling, but it does not seem sufficient.

Thats not overheat.

phones turn themselves off when they get to hot. Then, it’s only as hot as the air is (unless it’s in direct sun), which shouldn’t be hot enough to do that to a battery

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)
