Kraken G10 issue

Go to solution Solved by Darthvieuda,

Forgive me, it was as simple as the plate not coming into contact with a section of the gpu, I had to swing the mounting bracket around to the next point (contrary to the instructions) in order to get all four sides of the plate evenly touching the gpu. Thanks for the fast storming session fellas. Idle temps are now at 22 and much more favorable. Time to test out some games!

So I have installed an NZXT Kraken G10 on my EVGA GTX 770 and it works fine, temp at idle says 33 which I found a bit lackluster, but the real kicker is when I try to boot up a game. The screen will go black (monitor shuts off) and the PC reboots. I put the stock cooler back on and the games worked fine, no issue. Any ideas at all? This is the second time I have used the G10 and the first run went off without a hitch. Really scratching my head on this one. Where do I start?

Okay, what have you attached to the g10 first of all? Second of all, its doing that due to it not recognizing any fans or cooling, which you can fix by making it think the fans are on by ghosting it, I don't know how but I know you do that. (I THINK)

Sounds like you didn't have good contact with the graphics card and it shut off to prevent over heating. Make sure you get the thermal pads and paste applied correctly. Or just your vrm is getting too hot, it's a bad problem with the kraken, which I why I opted to stay on my stock cooler after I had planned on getting one.
