Hello, I wanted to ask if I need to clear CMOS etc. If I'm planning to upgrade my CPU and RAM. Or all I need to do is just turn off the PC take out old CPU and RAM and install new one and I'm good to go? Right now I have an i5 9400f and I will upgrade to a i7 9700k and my RAM is currently PATRIOT 2666mhz 2x8gb sticks and I'm upgrading them to a Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz 2x8gb sticks. I will APPRECIATE all of your help...

Correct.  I would recommend going into BIOS still and "Loading Optimized Defaults" as well after the upgrade.

Yes I'm going to do that, but the thing that scares me that my PC wouldn't turn on or would give me blue screens after I install the new CPU and RAM so I'm trying to get as much things as possible done to prevent any issues. I've read some threads where people say that Motherboard should set everything automatically and others say that you must clear CMOS I watched videos on how to upgrade CPU and RAM no one mentioned I need to CMOS. I'm so stressed about this. How do you think should I upgrade CPU first check if my PC is working then load optimized settings once again and install RAM that way If any issues occur it'll be easier to fix.

Tbh just stick to your current config and upgrade later, 9400f is still a rather capable 6 core, if you happen to have a board that can mess with bclk try raising bclk to 103 for a slight performance boost

12th gen is right around the corner and zen3d is expected to launch this year

Sure, and I answered you 🙂  Go ahead with it.  Nothing to be stressed about.  Put the new shit in, it'll work.  If it doesn't put the old shit in and then go thru all the stress bullshit.

Btw, use punctuation and grammar,  Much easier to understand you. You ask a question and a statement then a question in the same sentence at times.

"How do you think should I upgrade CPU first check if my PC is working then load optimized settings once again and install RAM that way If any issues occur it'll be easier to fix."

WTF are you asking?  Put CPU in, start machine, log into Windows, turn machine off, swap RAM, turn on, log into Windows.  Enjoy life.

@DedayogThere's no need to be cheeky to a person just asking for help.

Poor manners are worse than poor grammar.

@gujs you are doing the right thing by being careful. You shouldn't have any problems swapping those components but it is a good idea to clear the cmos, load optimised defaults then reapply xmp profile afterwards.

Good luck

You're right, I apologize for not taking his anxiety about this as seriously as he portrayed.  Again, it's not going to cause a problem if it doesn't work, you can always easily go back to your old setup and troubleshoot.
