PC crashes after exiting games

Hi.

 

Since a few days I experience some weird crashes on my PC. 

For about half a year everything ran fine, but after installing Age of Empires IV every time I exit any game my whole PC crashes. Interestingly background apps like iTunes or Discord keep going fine, but won't react on any interactions. 

The PC doesn't react on any normal shut down actions like pressing the Power button or via the start menu, I have to force the shut down by long pressing the power button. 

I can use the PC otherwise normal, like browsing the web, watching YouTube, etc. It´s only happening after exiting Games. 

 

I use Windows 10 Version 21H1.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3080

Asus TUF X570 WiFi

BIOS Version 4021 (2021/08/17, latest version)

2x 16GB Kingston KHX3200C16 

Boot Drive: 1TB Seagate FireCuda 520 nvme SSD

Storage: 2x 2TB SanDisk SSD (via SATA)

Seasonic Focus Plus 850W 80+Gold PSU

Do you really mean *every time* and *any game* literally?

Ok, I should´ve specified this more. 

It´s happening after I exit every game I´ve tested since then: Fifa 22, CS Go, Transport Fever 2, Age of empire IV, Wreckfest, FarCry 6. 

The games run fine, but after that i have to hard restart my PC. 

 

I don´t even have to fully start the Games to recreate this behavior, it happens when I load the main menu of these games and close them again.

I might have a fix i had this same issue and went into the bios and turned my pcie to gen 3 and it hasnt crashed since
