Links don't open in browser

I can not open Links sent to me via Skype, Teamspeak, Steam chat or any other programs. Could that have something to do with my browser or is there a system setting for this kind of thing? I use Chrome if that is important

sometimes you have to shift click or ctrl click to open things like that.

or its a setting. what browser do you use?
