Something like Ubuntu and PopOS are fairly user friendly. You shouldn't even have to touch the terminal.

What is your experience with Linux? Do already daily drive Linux and just want to gaming, do you daily Windows but have messed around with it in Live USBs, or do you just want to try Linux because it looks fun.

If you've never touched a Linux distro before in your life, look at Pop_OS!. It's very easy to use, has a ton of things configured out of the box, and is pretty easy to game on.

If you've messed around with Linux before, maybe take a look at something Arch-based, since they can sometimes give a bit better performance due to having more up-to-date drivers, kernals, and other software. Manjaro is pretty easy to use and usually pretty stable (though in my experience it breaks within a week of install every time), and Garuda looks beautiful and has all the necessary software preinstalled to be able to fire up a game, though some would say too much preinstalled software.

If you already daily drive Linux and want to get into gaming, mainline Arch or something close to mainline Arch like Endeavor OS is probably the way to go. Less bloat preinstalled, and is on the bleeding edge of packages.
