Hi guys,

So for my latest upgrades to my system my 620w Seasonic non-modular PSU is simply not enough, I have therefore decided to buy a Corsair RM1000, however my motherboard requires 1 8pin cpu power and 1 4pin cpu power unfortunatly the power supply only comes with 1 split 8 pin connector, could anyone tell me where I could purchase another one of these cables?

Thanks

David

What motherboard are you using?

have you just tried plugin just the 8 pin only from what i have learn is where motherboards have 2 lots of power inputs you only really need to use the 4 pin but i could be wrong

I know it doesn't really answer your question tho  :D

Thanks for the replies guys, after a bit more digging I found out My motherboard, the Asus crosshair v forumala z,can run on just on the 8 pin EPs, the 4 pin is only added when doing an extreme overclock. As for my components, I am in the process of doing a build log where I have upgraded to a R9 290, with the intention of crossfiring it in the future and moving up to a 8350 or 9xxx series.

Thanks for commenting though guys

you still dont need 1000w for 2 290 unless you are running the mother of all overclocks 850w would have been plenty.
