3080Ti (Asus TUF) working like or worse than 3070

sashabcro

I have upgraded my 3070 with new Asus TUF 3080Ti OC 12GB but for example in New World I'm getting sometimes lower FPS than I had with my old 3070. I have tried latest drivers, previous version and nothing helped. I used DDU to clean everything and started from scratch but nothing. Also I have new RM850x PSU inside and GPU is connected with two separate cables. I have even clocked my CPU a little bit just to see if that's the issue but nothing. For example a lot of people with same CPU as mine with default clock speed are getting in 3D Mark more than 20k results, while I'm able to get MAX around 17k which is TOO LOW. Below are latest results I got on Userbenchmark and 3D Mark from Steam and you can see all other hardware there. I wouldn't say that GPU is faulty since is working fine in games, but it seems it doesn't give me "power" like everyone else is having. Also I'm using 2K 144Hz screen, and everything is set up for 144Hz in settings and etc, also Windows 10 profile is set for Ultimate Performance mode.

Ignore the userbullshit score

whats the system specs?
is the ram in dual channel with xmp on?
What are gpu temps like on idle and on load?

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Windows 10 Pro 64bit, for RAM to be honest don't know since I'm "noob" with this settings and XMP. Don't know where to check this? MBO is MSI Z370M Mortar. Temp at the moment is around 49-50C, in game it goes between 60-70C.

Also, I'm playing ONLY on 2K not 4K, since my screen is 32" 2K 144Hz.

What CPU do you have? You might be CPU bottlenecked

Edit: nvm, found it in the link. Since you play at 2k that CPU could easily bottleneck a 3080 Ti, and probably also 3070.

It’s usually a pretty big button in the bios for msi boards, try even going to easy bios mode and look for a big button called XMP

Your cpu score is very low in Time Spy.

To give you an idea my i7 8086k does 8144 with a 5ghz all core overclock and 9128 with a 5.2ghz overclock.  Your score matches a stock i7 8700k and that it not enough for a 3080 ti.

Here is what my i7 8086k looks like with a Strix 3080 that has a 24/7 overclock with the default fan curve. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/67477054?

All you need to do is find an overclocking tutorial for your motherboard and an i7 8700k(same as i7 8086k) and you will get a much better result.

Which CPU and MBO should I get? Would I notice big differences between Ryzen 5/7/9 in gaming? Also which chipset MBO would be best? Thanks
