I am looking into getting a projector for my room and I can fit a 90 inch screen on my wall but I have a few questions. First can a normal media projector throw a 90 inch screen from 7.5 feet? Second how would a 720p projector look at 90 inches? I am using a 42 inch 1080p tv right now and I am concerned that the image will look pixelated at 90 inches. I am really new to projectors so if there is any other info I should know while looking for one I would appreciate that as well.

Budget? Country?

What will you be doing on it mostly? Gaming? Movie watching? Web browsing? presentations?

Can your room get really dark?

First you should know about the two different types of projectors. LCD and DLP and the advantages and disadvantages of both.

My room is a the basement of the house so yes it can get dark. Minor gaming and mostly movies.

My budget is preferably under 500.

under 500 is impossible for 1080p (there are some 1080p under 500 projectors, but they're absolutely dreadful)

minimum is 650 if you want a decent 1080p projector.

Keep in mind the distance you have as well in your room. Some projectors require a long throw distance to project the image at 90 inches.

That is what I have been seeing, which is why I was asking about a 720p one. I only use my tv a handful of times a month so I don't need anything super high end just something that won't look like poopy and can throw a 85-90 inch screen to watch movies on from time to time.

well in that case this is the best 720p projector that you can get in that price range:
