Oh there are them sometimes, but its not often. Also sometimes the quality drops but it isnt often and it normally goes right back up within a second or two.

Playing on Stadia. 30 FPS at 4k.

The game so far is good, not great. Not the best Far Cry but way better than 5.

I'm playing FC5 and am nearing the end. Then in reading about FC6, I saw it had multiple endings "like 5." So I peeked and read about 5's endings. Now I have no motivation to finish...

It's alright. So far the best Far Crys have been the odd ones for me. The even numbered ones are average or eh. Overall the game is a decent new installment to the series, but it was slow to get into. My problem with it is that it feels rather unpolished. I feel character models look worse, vehicle mounting/entering animations are very slow, so is melee, physics is... interesting and the interaction range for pickups is too short. Somehow they've managed to take a turn for the worse on a lot of points. The world is also a bit empty. For example, hunting animals feels useless as they don't get used for ammo pouches, extra weapon slots etc. like in 3.

There's plenty of good stuff as well though. The environments look gorgeous and who doesn't love a rocket launching backpack. The game is almost an hommage to Just Cause.

It runs fine on my 1080 Ti. Getting around 60-70 FPS average I would say, but it likes to dip deep sometimes for seemingly no obvious reason.

Not interested until it is super cheap. Unfortunately Far Cry games barely offer anything different game to game. 5 no longer works correctly and just crashes for no reason so I am stuck with 3 or New Dawn and Primal which ironically Primal is the most original of them all, the numbered ones and ND are just the same stuff rinse repeated.

4 is basically just 3 in a different coat of paint, so they are sort of equal to me. Gotta have an exception that breaks the rule right?

Another dropped ball with 6: the entire HUD disappears every time you enter another zone for like 5. Can't see the map, can't see where I need to go, can't access weapon menu. The game is fine, they just dropped the ball on surprisingly many UI/UX aspects.

Yeah I wouldn't go as far as saying the game is mediocre and I have to disagree with the "lazy, uninspired and definition of a bad sequel". I liken that to saying RDR2 is just cowboy GTA with horses instead of cars. It's only natural that you build on a winning formula.

Doing something completely different would make it not Far Cry anymore. Assassin's Creed suffers from this in my opinion. FC6 already feels a bit like a mix between JC3 and FC. Graphically we've also sort of hit a wall. The jump from DOOM to Far Cry is huge. The jump from Far Cry to FC3 is big, but lesser and from that point on all games look more or less the same with some that look exceptional.

For me, Far Cry 3 was the absolute master piece of the series. I think the main reason is because that installment was the revolutionary one with hunting animals for upgrades, radio towers for unlocking weapons and the map, the wingsuit etc. It introduced a ton of new mechanics that are just hard to improve upon. The main reason we dislike the sequels, I think, is because we've seen close to perfection. The problem is you can't just keep pumping out the same thing in a different colour (FC4), so you have to change up mechanics and such somewhat or people will complain about you not trying anything. They just can't win here.
