Budget (including currency): $2500 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Skyrim Remastered, GTA 5, Just Cause 3 & 4, Halo

Other details: I made a PC part picker list with what I think is good (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r47368). Also, I am currently playing on a X-Box One S and when I upgrade, I want similar or better performance. Would my list do that?

Overall your system is pretty good and will function as described. That said, there are a couple places you can save money without losing performance, and some places where you can gain a bit of performance.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KsDg2V

You probably should add a cooler to this system, the stock cooler is fine but with a better cooler will let the CPU boost higher with PBO

There's not really a reason for this system to go X570, the B550 version of the board is very well rated and costs $100 less for the same performance.

You can get some faster memory, it'll add about 5% to CPU scores depending on the test.

The WD SN750 performs about the same, but costs ~$30 less

For the GPU you can probably get one on eBay for less, and it's worth a look.

The H510 has very bad airflow and your system might have some overheating issues. If you really like the looks of the H510, at least the Flow version of the case, or preferably get a different, more airflow focused case like the Phanteks P400a. It's about the same price and is a very easy to build in computer.

You can get a Windows 10 key on eBay or some other key resellers for 10% of the cost. Almost no one on here actually paid full price for Windows, and why would you for something that is gonna serve you ads and track your data?

You might want to upgrade the CPU to a 5800X so you have two extra cores and a bit more single core performance, though for just gaming it's not really necessary.

Save money and get a B550 board, you will not need a x570, no one does unless you are overclocking stupid amounts. Example

Also, in most cases you won't need more than 16GB of ram, but for the price that 32 pack seems good. Don't floret to enable XMP/DOCP when you get it.

From the money you saved on your motherboard you could get a PCIe NVMe drive like one from Sabrent. Just make sure its TLC and not QLC if you are running OS on it.

I would recommend an airflow case, the H510 suffocates hardware.

Finally the 5600x does not come with a good cooler, so you might want either a Heatsink like this one. Or an AIO like this one. This I would get recommendations from the community on, but both of these will cool your CPU just fine. Its mostly a matter of if they fit in your case or not.

Maybe something like this?

300$ left so maybe upgrade the gpu to a 3080(ti) or if you want futureproofing for whatever reason you can also upgrade the cpu to a 5900x but thats prob only worth it if you wanna keep this thing for more than 5 years
