So I am getting ready to move, quite a long distance. My PC will either be on the plane with me or will have to be shipped. Currently I have been using a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo (since I got the computer, ~5 years now) and I am going to detach it before we move, so there are less things that can pull or break during flight/shipping.

Should I just stay with it? Is there something better that I should grab?

My case is the Cooler Master Masterbox 5 (the version with the 120/140mm top fan mount). I am debating getting an AIO and top mounting it, but not sure if a single 120mm (or 140mm, but I can't seem to find many of those) would be enough cooling.

Anyone have any advice?

a 120mm AIO would provide very similar cooling to the 212 evo because of the similar surface area. very thick radiator would be required to make a difference.

That said, my 6 core i7 is being handled just fine under my 212 even with an overclock, so I doubt an upgrade is really necessary in your case.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Unless you're doing really heavy overclocking, the 6700K is quite easy to cool, and a Hyper 212 should do just fine. The 6700K is basically an unlocked i3 10105 - same 14nm process, similar architecture, similar base clock speeds, both 4c/8t.

Say what you want about Intel's 10nm woes and keeping things at 4 cores for too long, but by the time Skylake hit, those 4 cores were crazy efficient for the performance you got. There's a reason AMD had to create a completely new architecture, and still needed to put out 6 and 8 core chips, just to compete at all.
