MX Master 3 issues

Go to solution Solved by KhakiHat,

Why don't you just use the bluetooth functionality?

Hi guys.

I started having issues with this mouse on my laptop.

Sometimes it works something don't.

The only way when it stops to work to make it work again is to push usb dongle little upwards, probably so it can make better contact with USB port on laptop.

But from this morning it doesn't work at all.

On same USB port other wireless mouse works pretty normal.

I tried on second laptop same MX master, northing simply dead.

Now I plugged in USB dongle to one of my desktop PC which really has nice USB port and dongle doesn't move at all while trying to move it left to right, and guess what, mouse works normally.

Wtfff is going on here? 😕

Anyway I ordered same MX Master 3.

Did I make a mistake when often transferring USB dongle to other laptops and using mouse.

I guess probably such small devices are not meant to remove/install over and over again.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Guess both the port and the usb dongle are a little bit screwed over, so replacing one of the other is enough to restore contact. Maybe you are applying lateral forces when unplugging or replugging.

Now it stopped working completly.

I dunno if the dongle itself is bad or I have issue with mouse.

But I can order separate USB reciever if that part makes issues.

I remember mouse fell on a floor few days back..

I've dissasembled the mouse now and gesture button is not blocked, works normally.

But the mouse is simply dead,no green button at all.

I'm sure it has to do with fall.

I took the mouse to a local repair guy,he told me that mouse is okay, but there is a problem in USB receiver detecting the mouse,it simply won't recognize it.
So I want to ask you can I purchase separately USB dongle from the link below and would it work with the mouse?

https://iponcomp.com/shop/product/logitech-usb-unifying-receiver/1583740
Or each mouse needs it's own USB receiver?

If the problem lies solely on the receiver then yes, but it could be still a problem something on the mouse side sending a signal. Too bad your local repair guy couldn't test it for you.

Test what?

Only Logitech can fix the mouse I think so.

I'm sure you would repair it.

Test with a logitech receiver that they have lying around in the shop, if they had one.

It didn't work. Each receiver works only with it's mouse!!

What now?

Metal part of the USB receiver stayed in USB connector in laptop.

There is no way I can remove it.

This is simply incorrect. There are plenty of guides online.
