Hey guys and gals... How are you? 馃槃

So, here is the deal... I have a PC that I've build myself over the years. It's not perfect, but it's enough for me. The thing is, it suddenly started randomly restarting and having Video TDR failures blue screen. Some times, also randomly, it shuts off every thing connected in USB ports just to restart them a few seconds later.聽

As I said, the PC was built over time. The oldest piece is the PSU (a Corsair RM 650x), which is getting close to 10 years now. Since聽my GPU (a RTX 2060)聽is not that old and I聽never overclocked it, I'm not convinced it is the cause of the problem.聽

All and all, I'm suspecting the issue is related to the PSU, but I'm not sure if problems in it could cause all the those problems.聽

My PC configuration is as follow:聽

CPU: intel core i9 9900k (less than 2 years old)

Motherboard: Asus TUF z370-PLUS GAMING (around 3 years old)

RAM: 24GB DDR (2x4 + 1x16) 1200 ( about 3 years old the 2x4 and less than 2 the 1x16)

GPU: RTX 2060 (around 2 years old)

PSU:聽Corsair RM 650x (Not sure how old it is, but I'm sure is between 8 and 10 years old)

I've also noticed that it usually only restarts when I'm doing something more intensive (like playing games), but the resetting of the USB devices can happen even when I'm just using discord for example.

Thanks for your help.聽

Sounds like a PSU issue. That thing is 6 years old max (released in 2015), but you should still have warranty on it so I would try RMA'ing it. Also mixing RAM can cause instability, maybe try running with only the 16gb stick or only the 2x8gb?

The thing about the RAM is that I've been using it like this for well over a聽year now and never had any issues before whatsoever. But lets say the RAM could be causing issues, what type of issues? Could it be causing聽TDR video failure or randomly resetting USB devices? I honestly don't remember having any error related to memory...
