Not really, just get the 780 unless you really need the performance. You can always throw in a second one down the road if you need to.

One always pays a premium to be on the cutting edge. The price-to-performance ratio will be lower, but the performance will be higher. It's all a matter of your budget and how important that extra bit of performance is to you.

the gtx780 is 80% of a 780ti (google people, google...),

or the 780ti is 25% more powerful than the 780 (pah, and you thought the 780 was powerful...)

if the 780ti costs more than 25% than the equivilant 780 then you're getting ripped off..

2304(780)/2880(780ti)*100=80%

2880(780ti)/2304(780)=1.25 (25% more)

for 780 at $530 the 780ti should cost $662.50....but if you want one, nvidia wants your money, same with amd (hence why the r9-290 is a steal).

The approximately 10-20% performance gain isn't relative to an almost 30% price increase.

The GTX 780 TI is only 12-15% clock per clock in current games at 1080p & 1440p. Do I think it's worth it....? Not really, if you are okay with overclocking you can get GTX 780 Ti performance or close to it for $200 less.

True, still doesn't change the fact that it's only 12-15% faster clock per clock.... May be worth it to some?
