As @Herman Mcpootis said, AMD just recently dropped support for this graphics card and is now in Legacy drivers. The card will still work, but can't guarantee software related issues in newer titles with the graphics card. In general, GCN architecture is out to pasture now. IIRC, this leaves Polaris (RX 400 series) and newer architectures to be supported by AMD.

Yeah, sorry, I'd pass on it.

It's too many generations old, and you'll have more and more problems with games no longer supporting it, having glitches and crashes in games...

Polaris (rx 5xx) will have longer support, as versions of these chips are in consoles, so game engines will support them for longer time ... so they make more sense.

RX 570 will be better than gtx 1050 in performance.

Are you comparing the 560 to a 570? Or to the R9 290? The 1060 will be slightly better than a RX 570 and RX 560.

UPDATE - Finally settled on xfc Rx 570 4gb for about 150usd. It was a good decision to ditch the r9 290 lol.
