Okay so I just installed a new motherboard (Asus b450-plus tuf 2) from my old one (asus b350m-a) and that was a headache of its own. Now im in and everything seems to be fine except that the cpu clock now stays at around its max clock speed (4.2). This wasn't like this with the older mobo and now the cpu fans rush on like im playing a intensive game everytime I do something like open Google chrome...

I know that I need to update my bios but im wondering if there is something else wrong here. I think I've read that its "technically fine" for it to run like that but I want it to only get the high speeds when it needs to, and for the cpu fans not have to always work so hard just when opening chrome.

Could use the help, thanks.

What cpu do you have?

I think your board just has pbo enabled so itll boost the absolute sht out of itself, you can disable it in the bios

Though if your temps are under 80c then you may wanna consider just keeping pbo on and just control your fan so itll spin slower, try a program like speedfan, pretty good program for controlling fans, i personally use it and its a really useful multitool for me since i can monitor cpu voltages and adjust fan speed

I have the ryzen 5 3600. So its not a problem that just sitting at the home screen my temp gets up to the high 60s (according to asus armory crate)? For some reason radeon software, task manager, and asus armory all say different things)
