R9 270x Eyefinity Question

Ok, I have heard many things about this and I was wondering If someone could help me. 

 

I have 3 monitors ( DVI, HDMI and VGA uses an adapter dvi to vga )

 

My card is a XFX r9 270x and I want to get 3 monitor setup working.

 

I found on this Tom's Hardware thread that it is possible for some people to do 3 monitors without the use of display port. However it does not work for me. I have also asked people and some say that it is possible and some say it is not. 

 

I also watched linus's recent video with the r7 265 and he highlights in the video that one of the features is eyefinity without the use of display port. Help please

 i7 2600k , XFX R9 270x  , Corsair cx 500 ,  asrock z77 extreme 3 , 8 gb ripjaws x 1600 , 1 tb WD blue, Cooler master Haf 912

Well usually you would need a displayport hub. I think only the Flex editions from sapphire support 3 monitors with only hdmi or dvi.

 

So basically it depends on the manufacturer.

example: my msi 7950 would need a displayport hub, sapphires 7950 flex not!

 

 

edit: and i think the r9 270x from gigabyte supports it too, but as I said it depends.

Make sure eyefinity is set up correctly in CCC?

when I go into ccc it only shows two monitors

It's probably the VGA one that's not working. See if hooking another one up will work, or maybe your adapter is broken.
