I think all you are going to get out of it is Minecraft if you are lucky, but I will do some research and see what can be done. Probably not much though. Also that rig is more than a decade old. Try nearly 15 years if the CPU is any indication of the age.

Also, we are going to need a bit more info about the motherboard to see about upgrades. If you are lucky, it has 4 slots and can hold up to 8 GB of DDR2 RAM.

idk thoe 2x4gb ddr2 can be really cheap at 20$
30$ should be on cpu

Is this a prebuild system or an OEM? Depending on the motherboard, you may not be able to get a much better CPU and may consider instead getting a small SSD as a boot drive. I am currently looking up DDR2 RAM as I speak on eBay.

I found these for RAM: https://www.ebay.com/itm/154412627789?hash=item23f3b5b74d:g:~VoAAOSwdFxgdPgW

You can get 4 of them for 8 GB and play Minecraft, but not much else on that system. But that does leave you with $25.68 USD for another part, which again I suggest an SSD. But then if you can provide either the make and model of the system (if it is an OEM) or the motherboard, I can look up CPUs as well.

This one seems like a reasonably cheap SSD: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/7x4NnQ/pny-cs900-120gb-25-solid-state-drive-ssd7cs900-120-pb

Here is an even cheaper SSD I found new on eBay: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/7x4NnQ/pny-cs900-120gb-25-solid-state-drive-ssd7cs900-120-pb

Could you tell the mobo model and manufacturer?

If you have a garbage board that dont have voltage settings then just buy a xeon e5450 for ~250rb and bsel to 400fsb for 3.6ghz

If you have a good board with volt settings in the bios maybe abit higher, 3.8-4ghz

Upgrade the ram to 4gb or if you can find 4gb ddr2 ram sticks buy 2 of those for 8gb ram

Cause you may have some settings that will allow for better overclocking

its pretty much nothing i changed the memory to 800 and legacy to uefi the board doesn't support cpu overclocking at least my board

It looks like there is a few Asrock G31 models based on my search of that motherboard. You may need to check the BIOS or within Windows (if you have Windows on that system) for the system info. Another trick is to use Crucial System Scanner which will tell you what you have and what upgrades they at least offer. I know this because I use to work for them before they sold their support to India lol.

Dont get q66 or 6700, you need alot of voltage to go over 3.2ghz and i mean A LOT, 4ghz on a q6600 is around 1.65v, and its going to be impossible to even cool that cheaply

Since its g31 most boards will do 400fsb easily so you can bsel to 400fsb for 3.6ghz on a xeon e5450, and you can actually run most of these wolfdales/yorkfields at ~3.8-4ghz with stock voltages so 3.6ghz will run very well on stock voltages

Cooler wise just buy a cheap copper core lga 775 cpu cooler, they are around 2-3$ locally, personally i find these at around 35rb on places like tokopedia

My copper core cooler on an e8400 overclocked to 4.05ghz 1.28v keeps the cpu at around 70c at full load over a prolonged period of time but i modded my case with a mesh sidepanel which is basically equivalent to running it without a sidepanel at all so expect a +-5c diff depending on if your case sidepanel has garbage airflow

No ebay, Indonesian import tax will murder your deal faster than the Griffin family (Family Guy or The Invisible Man, pick your flavor).

OP, you gonna be better off selling said system, and try to find old i5 4460 optiplex off of Mangga Dua shops tokopedia listings. Youre not really going anywhere with that 50$ and youre bound to overbudget to get something thats even remotely usable in mc.

I was not aware that the import taxes were so high there. Sorry about that.

so its settled
cpu upgraded to e5450
ram 8gb ddr2
same board
same case
120gb ssd
same 500gb harddrive

Personally i say just save for a 256gb ssd cause i think anything under 256 or 500gb will be pretty slow

And all you have to do is bsel mod the cpu to 400mhz fsb for 3.6ghz, although if you wanna overclock abit more look at the pll of your motherboard, its usually ics or something and the chip is a large rectangle on most of these boards, then you can overclock via setfsb
