Hi everyone,

Is possible to use one specific ram module for storage cache??

My idea is:

I've got a 2x16GB installed in the sistem using dual channel. If i put another ram module in the system is possible to use it for cache speed up an ssd/hdd?

P.S. sorry for my english i'm Italian 🙂

Nope ram isn't setup that way. It will normally run in a hybrid mode, with the first chunk of the ram running in dual channel, and the rest in single channel.

Your os already uses all your free ram as a cache for your hdd/ssd. Adding more ram will just make the cache bigger with no configuration.

Windows automatically does caching for you.

There are applications that accelerate hard drives by caching files in ram or on another SSD.  A SSD is already fast, won't benefit much from caching in RAM, doing something more than what Windows does.
