I've had good experiences with the Brother offerings both at work and now at home now too. Even my "consumer" L3770 also has scan to samba share and it works perfectly fine.

Go with Brother. When my last inkjet died, I couldn't find a Brother LaserJet in my area, so I went with a HP LaserJet MFP and I hate it. In order to do anything other than just printing, you have to create an account with HP or your printer is worthless. Also, it will randomly turn on in the middle of the night and make a beeping sound that carries throughout my apartment. HP sucks!

Why do you need to create an account with HP to get the scanner and fax to work after giving them your money? I haven't been able to get anyone at HP to explain this.

Brother printers are the best, IMO.
