POST code 0A after changing secure boot settings

A long time ago, modified my secure boot settings to allow Linux to run with Secure Boot enabled. I don't use Linux anymore and had forgotten I did that so, while I was in the BIOS to double check hw virtualization support b/c Kaspersky warned me it was disabled (that was false), I reset Secure Boot settings to the board defaults. I hit save & reboot to BIOS, and it hasn't put an image on my monitor since. I do not have any spare parts to test with and would really like to keep this motherboard as it has a limited edition cover that matches the themed case.

I have already:

* hit the clear cmos button on the rear i/o of my mobo

* tried the backup ROM switch on my mobo

* unplugged all my storage in case it was dA (d is rendered in lowercase on the mobo so I doubt it)

* unplugged gfx card and wifi/bt addon card

* re-seated CPU

* removed CMOS battery overnight

* tried booting w/o CMOS battery

* booting with a Linux flash drive

no matter what I do, it eventually settles back in on code 0A.

specs:

NZXT N7 Z370 (was on BIOS v1.0.2 oob, p. sure I installed 1.0.3 but I have no way to confirm that now...)

i7 8700K

XFX RX 580 (not in system atm for troubleshooting)

NZXT PSU

WD blue 2tb hdd (unplugged for troubleshooting)

Samsung 870 EVO formatted for PrimoCache (unplugged for troubleshooting)

some PCIe 1x to m.2 networking card adapter from amazon, plus an intel wifi card to go in it

my mobo is an NZXT N7 Z370. It has a digital POST code display, not an old fashioned beeper. The code is 0A.

It has a place for speaker by the FP header. ALL boards still support this function today.

0A = Initialization after microcode loading

All this tells you is where it got hung up at. Nothing more. The above is not an error code but is where the pc hung during post.

Ok I'll order a speaker for it if I can find the place I'm supposed to plug it in. Maybe the little circle that's missing a ground pin? I don't see anything clearly labeled for this.

Might get the beeps from the front speakers header....

No matter, you have a bios switch on that board. Why not try the other bios? Page 12. Switch is #12 in the diagram.

NVM! I see you've tried that.

There is a backup rom button. And a switch. The button I think is to flash bios from USB. (But I'm not sure cause I'm not super familiar with this board)

The button is for flashing BIOS B into BIOS A. Totally useless to me since both are failing. The manual doesn't say anything about using f_panel_audio for debug beeps but I'll try it anyway. At least it has a pinout for it. I'll also try my theory of the unassigned pin. Have to order a speaker from Amazon so it'll be a couple days

@ShrimpBrime
no luck with the beepers. I also noticed that the manual says there's an LED that should be on when booted into BIOS B, but it doesn't come on when I put the switch in the B position. Seems like it's dead dead.

Yep. Doesn't get any deader. All boards do a beep at startup or multiple with issues, none usually means bad board or bricked bios. Sorry man.

Well if it can't get any more dead, I can't really do any harm if I buy a new BIOS chip from ebay and try my hand at soldering it on lol. Never done anything that small but I guess now's a good opportunity to try. I'll post back here with results if you're interested.

Always interested! Bring pics!

Bios Depot will flash whatever revision you need. So if they are cheap enough you could always grab a couple of them with difference bios's loaded up. I recommend at least one with a factory shipped bios as well.
