Should be compatible.

 

Worthy upgrade I don't know. What are you going to do with it? anything on the x58 is basically beyond end off life even with extreme ocing you still can't use it for all games as those cpu's lack certain needed instruction sets.

 

So if I were you I'd just sell it as it still holds value right now.
