280 hz monitor with laptop connection probllem

I just bought a 280hz monitor, Asus TUF Gaming VG259QM, and i was wondering if it was possible to conect it to my laptop without losing performance. My laptop is the msi MSI GE66 Raider 10SF-056XES and it has this connections.

  • 1 x Type C USB3.2 Gen2 with DP1.4(@8K)
  • 1 x Type A USB3.2 Gen2
  • 2 x Type A USB3.2 Gen1
  • 1 x Type C USB3.2 Gen2x2
  • 1 x Type C USB3.2 Gen2 with DP1.4 /
  • 1x Mini DisplayPort 1.4 /
  • 1x HDMI 2.0(4K@60Hz)

You have a dp1.4 usb c so with the right adapter it will work. You'll need a usb c to dp 1.4 adapter. But also good luck on getting 280fps.

what do you mean by "losing performance"? Do you encouter any issues when you do connect your laptop to said display?

You mean lowering the refresh rate of you monitor right? Fps are entirely different from that. You'll get the same fps on the screen as on your laptop as long as the resolution and settings are the same.

HZ on the monitor means that that is the fps it supports. 280hz means that it supports 280fps= frames per second on the screen.

You wont get more fps by upgrading your mmonitor, fps is provided by your pc. if your pc cannot get 280fps, 280hz screen is dump thing to get.

what you need to understand is that hz does not meann fps. it means the max refresh rate it will support. e.g. you have a laptop that gets 70 fps in warzone. you buy a high rrefresh monitor, thinking it will increase fps. it doesn't. you will stoll have and be seing 70fps, regardless of monitor refresh rate. tho for 190 that is a steal, so if annd whhen youu upgrade you wil already haae a good monitor.

depends. what laptop? also i doupt that you will get even over 100fps on yoru laptop, so 280hz is a complete waste
