As soon in person uni will start for me, I would like a new laptop, budget is 800-1200€.

I definetly want a touchscreen, otherwise beeing able to see the screen in the sun is the most important. I have a PC at home, should I ever need power.

I thought about HP Envy X360 13", but remember from the review, that it can be uncomfortable for big hands, but most bigger laptops seem to have mediocre screen brightness.

If you just want to have the touchscreen as another input device, than the Envy should be a good choice. I definitely had good experience with the build quality of the recent HP Envy laptops. Keep in mind the screen is 16:9 (at least in the 2020 model) so your palms can slide off a bit if they are medium size, but if they are large they will just rest on the table. I am not sure if you would find that comfortable, but I didn't find it an issue.

With that said, I would not recommend getting a touchscreen laptop to use as a tablet, they are thick, too heavy and unwieldy. Having the keyboard and touchpad pressed against your palm is also quite uncomfortable.

The envy is great (as long as you get the amd models). It has one small issue tho. The feet on it are a little to short so it can have issues cooling when not on a perfectly flat surface when doing a intense task. So just lifting the back a tiny bit can cause a 40c drop in temps when doing something intense on it and it also makes it a lot quieter.

The biggest issue is that well all touchscreens are glossy glass so just like a phone being in direct sunlight will be a problem.
