TumescentPie the PC

Gathorisx

Link!

Named after the great (also my favourite) SC2 live streamer/player, TumescentPie

Built mainly for gaming and programming, and everything in between (including a bit of mining), probably no editing though.

After my previous PC blew up (literally) due to a crap PSU, I decided I wanted a new PC and started saving up for a build, after many months (almost a year) I finally gathered the funds and decided on the parts.

CPU (FX-8320) I was originally going to go for the Ivy 3570k, however I decided the difference in price between the 8320 and the 3570k was not worth it, because of the similar performance, also Tek Syndicate's videos helped me alot with this decision. Was disappointed when the CPU did not come in a tin :(

GPU (Sapphire HD7950) Now you might be wondering why I would get a 7950 when the 280/x was out, (and how I got it soo cheap) well, when I started saving up, the 7950/70 were the top AMD cards, the 7950 was perfectly priced for me, and I wanted it, but I waited too long and Hawaii was released and discontinued the line of 7950s (later to be replaced by 280/x) so I was on eBay looking for a graphics card at a good price and came across a seller selling a "computer part" that they could not identify (even though there was a HD 7950 sticker on the front?) so they were selling it in a non-related section so I bidded for it, and won, thats how I got this amazing card for cheap.

Cooler (212 EVO) I originally wanted to go watercooling, but decided it was not worth it in the long run, especially since I was going to do a custom loop eventually, decided on the tried and tested 212 Evo

Case (BitFenix Shinobi Windowed) Originally wanted a Z11+ from zalman but saw some other cases and got bored of it, once while looking for cases saw this and immediately bought it (without any parts at the time) so I had it since May 2013, I love this case so much, its a great case and i like the soft touch coating, however I think its a bit on the small side, and just barely fits my GPU (wanted a 280x Toxic but I though it wouldn't fit) but that can be fixed by getting the XL Version. (my bad for not getting the XL), I also thought about the Fractal Design Define R4 (3minimal5me)
