Hey Crew,

I've been wanting to build my own PC for awhile now and have finally decided to do it.

Budget (including currency):  looking around $2500 AUD

Country:  Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: looking at more of a gaming PC that will run all games well at high quality, with the option for upgrading later on

Other details: I already own a Samsung 32-inch 4K Ultra HD Curved Monitor and a Mouse, but will need a keyboard and OS

if there are any websites that could help that would be good aswell

Cheers

Yeah, you gonna be GPU bottlenecked regardless. For the GPU, get it near the MSRP i listed or wait up on building it. For OS, remember that gray market is cheaper than going with normal keys.

So with pcpartpicker you can search through a lot of sites and it will display a good price, but if you do thorough searching you may find better prices that are somehow not listed there. But anyway, it's maybe the best website to get a good overview over the cost of the system

AMD is faster then comparable intel CPU's at the moment, so with your budget, I'd go AMD.

For AMD, 3600MHz Ram is recommended, so thats always neat to have.

I'd go for a boot drive SSD with cache (like the SN750, Samsung 970 Evo plus or else) and a game drive HDD, as most games will have fast enough load times on HDD anyways.

I'll explain the GPU later.

For Cases, you want a good airflow case that will allow your components to be operated at low temperatures. This will mean, that the fans won't have to work as much an be therefore quieter than some "quiet" cases, that have worse airflow. The Phanteks Case is a solid case and well enough made for its price, also good airflow.

For PSU, even with a 3080 you may only need a 750w PSU, thats why I only put a 750w unit in there. The quality of the PSU is more important than the pure wattage rating. A no name PSU with 1000w may perform worse then a quality 750w one.

For keyboards, I don't know the market as well, but this one has good reviews and RGB, so yay. Maybe have a look into some cheaper mechanical keyboards.

GPU: Damn the market is fucked right now, but you can still get one. I honestly don't think, that you will get a 3080 at 1500$ even. But the Nvidia 3070TI or AMD RX 6800XT perform both pretty good. If you can get the 6800XT for 1300$, then do so. It is closer to the 3080 in it's performance. But if you only can get the 3070TI, then take it. It is a great 1440p card, so you may have to lower your resolution ingame to 1440p or even in Windows. But then you can have a smooth game experience. The jump from 1440p to 2160p in quality is barely noticeable, but pixelcountwise it is double the pixels and therefore way more gpu-intensive.

Curb the horribly mismatched mobo, cpu cooler, and ram, but atleast it will perform well

You will want to overclock the ram

If you dont overclock the cpu i suggest undervolting it instead cause its a k cpu

Gpu is up to you, maybe you can get 3060ti?
