My friends,

when you are purchasing nvme for your PC,did you encounter any compatibility issues with MoBo?

I've read here somewhere that guys had issues with nvme drives like not able to format, freezes, not recognizing the nvme drive etc...

I don't think manufactures give qwl lists for nvme drives, just like with RAM memory.

I ask you this because I really would want to have software issues with nvme drive I'd like to purchase.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

I have never heard of nvme compatibility issues. nvme is just a different version of a pcie slot so theoretically any drive should work afaik.

Then you don't read threads at this forum...some ppl had issues that can not format the drive, drive is not recognized in BIOS etc...

That’s usually because people are trying to find nvme drives under  SATA devices in the bios. I’ve had many cases where the nvme drive is “not detected” by the bios, but works just fine when booted.

I'm having that said problem with two new out of the box WD SN850 1TB NVMe's. Installed them into my system, shows up in BIOS but Windows 10 won't recognize them in disk management, storage spaces or under command prompt list disk.

However the Western Digital dashboard program sees them just not as 'volumes' and I can't wrap my head around how to make my system recognize or initialize the disks. Running this on an ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard and my system has been down for two days straight trying to figure this problem out.

Oh and it won't show up under boot priority and isn't available as a disk during windows install. This is with both testing with and without any SATA drives installed and all settings followed accordingly countless hours of manuals, both official and unofficial and videos/forums.

P.S. PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller error has been resolved since. BIOS updated, Chipset installed and updated and NVMe M.2 Firmware has also been updated.

UPDATE: Problem has been resolved by using NVMe RAID mode in the BIOS by following steps from AMD RAID setup where my drives was able to be initialized and recognized by the system.
