Docker giving me error when starting

Go to solution Solved by Bombastinator,

A rough possible clue that may be nothing.  I don’t know much about this stuff anymore, butBack long ago dependencies were sometimes an issue with Linux.  It sort of sounds like it’s missing something.  Maybe see if the dependancy for something overwrote an older version of something with a newer version that this also uses but needs the older version?  Spitballing.

I have been trying for some time now to get docker to run on my computer, when i open the program it first gets stuck on "Starting docker" after that it throws the error "Failed to deploy distro docker-desktop to C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Docker\wsl\distro: exit code: -1"

I also tried to install ubuntu to see if that could help me out, but when i install it form the Microsoft store i get his error image.png.6d044f1ab03e943dcd8f3ce09edab948.png'

Does anyone have a clue why this is giving me the problems they are? i have been searching google trying reinstalls of docker and WSL, enable and reenable "Windows Subsustem for linux"

Any help would be so good!

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Be damned.  One point for antique out of date knowledge perhaps.  Unless it was still stupid and the real problem got fixed while looking for that one.  Either way if it’s fixed it’s fixed though.
