So here's the story.

I have an old pc an hp Compaq elite 8300 to be exact

And I've been gaming on in for a while and realize that it was time to upgrade my ram, The Idiot me decided to pull out the ram to check what ddr the ram is so that I can buy another 4gb(later realized that you can find the information on task manager) then I put back the ram and the pc starts beeping (5 beeps), thought I find a way to get it working I just have to reinstall that ram every time I open the pc and its annoying me pls help

You probably put it back in the wrong socket or did not fully insert it with enough force. Might also be some dust in the ram slot so try wiping those out with a cloth WHEN THE PC IS OFF AND UNPLUGGED. All of this should be done when the pc is off and unplugged from the power cord.

Thanks for the advice I'll try it tomorrow

It's probably just me panicking cuz I see a lot of page saying that 5 beeps mean a motherboard or cpu is damaged so I kinda panicked cuz this pc has a sentimental value to me

Update here

Its not beeping anymore thanks for the help though I will still be monitoring it.
