microphone problems

i bought a headset for talking to friends on games, the audio works fine but the microphone doesn't work at all. all computer audio comes through the stereo mixer. iv tried all the simple solutions, setting to default, checking the volume levels, making sure its not muted, updating drivers and countess other things. iv spent hours trying to fix this. when i plug the headset into another device the microphone works fine. i know it must be a software problem i just dont know what to do.

Hi there, i´ve got the same issue.. i tried to adjust the privacy in windows for the mic. but nothing. Hopefully there is someone who know´s what to do..

 

UPDATE: I re-installed my soundcard and now its working just fine.
