Computer upgrade recommendation

Go to solution Solved by CWALD,

With that budget I would either go for a new GPU or wait for AMD's new socket to get a MB and CPU. Considering the current GPU market, AMD's next socket is probably the better choice.

Good morning!

I have now come to the decision that I would like to upgrade my PC instead of buying a new one!

Current hardware:

Housing: Sharkoon TG5
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
CPU cooler: Be Quiet Dark Rock 4
GPU: RX590 Phantom Gaming X 8GB
Ram: 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz
Mainboard: MSI B450-A PRO
PSU: 600W Be Quiet! System Power 9
SSD1: 250GB Samsung 970-EVO Plus
SSD2: 1TB Samsung 860-QVO
HDD1: 2TB Seagate Barracuda

Max. Price: 1000 €

Requirements: Gaming (Full HD 144Hz) / Streaming (HD - Full HD) / Photo-video processing (Full HD - 4K)

Games: Valorant / PUBG / Deadside / Escape From Tarkov / DayZ / ETS2 / Forza Horizon 4 / Minecraft

Other things: ARGB is nice that's why I want that too, but unfortunately my MB doesn't have a 4 ARGB connection ... That's why I think I would have to buy a new mainboard!

What did I think of:

* New mainboard with ARGB connection

* New CPU (Ryzen in any case)

* New GPU (Nvidia or AMD)

* New case + fan because I am somehow not satisfied with the cooling performance ... At 100% GPU utilization I have 84 degrees and the CPU is then around 30% and usually around 60 degrees, although I think this is due to the large air cooler!

Thanks in advance! and just let me know if you have any questions!

Yeah, seems like a better GPU, at least for streaming, I believe it requires more CPU, and not sure about the processing.. at least from the Linus' videos about editor's PC-s and stuff.. it seems that CPU is the thing, but isn't that also rendering? Rending does the GPU hmm
In any case - your GPU is definitely the weakest link here I believe - I wanted to go with it, but I choose not to, and I am so so happy that I spent like a week or two bashing my head - it paid off. That GPU you have draws a lot of power... and that means more heat if I'm not mistaken.

Price - not sure about the motherboard, but a CPU AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X seems okay, not sure about the pricing, same wattage as the 5 3600 but 2 more cores, and the 5600 itself is already a step-up than yours.. I don't think the 5 3600 itself is a worth upgrade, though.

PC case and fan - yeah man I feel you, I need that change too..
I recommend BeQuiet as it will stress you out less with the noise and it will be easier to concentrate, if need be.
Not sure about liquid cooling, but I am myself interested in that.

I cannot quote people with the built-in function because I almost never enable JavaScript on websites. You won't get notified if I reply to you, sadly :/
