Pretty stoked on undervolting results with basic AMD reference coolers

Action_Johnson

Recently picked up an AMD Reference 6700XT for MSRP from a Good Guy Greg on FB.

Super stoked, I plugged it in and noticed how loud and hot it got under load. Fans ramped up super high, junction temps above 100C. Thought I'd try to undervolt it a bit the Radeon driver, along with my CPU using the Optimum Tech Undervolting/PBO guide, and see how I could do.

I was able to drop my CPU temps down into the 60's while maintaining a constant 4.6GHz boost clock in gaming. -30 all core wasn't in the cards, but it's stable at -15. Silicon lotto I guess.

Got the GPU down to 1070Mv, maxed out power draw, and left the VRAM and Core Clocks alone. Dropped hotspot temp down from 105C to 80-85C! Now I can barely hear the GPU at all, the CPU fan is fixed at 40%, and my computer has never been quieter. Pretty awesome stuff, highly recommend to anyone who can do this.

Doom Eternal, Ultra Nightmare + RT on, 1080p, pegged at 100fps
