so i was gonna sell a laptop and suddenlty the screen stoped working, the laptop worked just fine if i used an external monitor but the laptop didnt recognize its own screen. when i took it to the service (after 2 months) they told me the screen was broken and it had a problem with the motherboard. when i asked how the screen was broken beacause physically it didn't show any kind of problem, they showed me a picture of the screen broken and said "It was from the inside so when you open it you see it" but thats not the part that worry me. when i asked exactly what was the problem with the motherboard. Because if the computer worked 100% fine (runed benchmarks and everything and rendered some things) and they said that if i didnt change the screen it would still not show anything. they said "The chip that controlls voltage is short (rough translation because he told me in spanish)" so my question is if the chip that controlls voltage is failling shouldn't i see it in anyway with the functioning of the laptop? or it can just sneak and would be a problem some day.

they charged me 500 dollars for everything so i don't wanna just say yes sir and throw money that i don't really have

How exactly are they testing the the voltage to the chip?  It sound to me like they are making up stuff to stiff you out of your cash. I would walk away and go somewhere else

I dont know, i asked if the computer turns on (because i dont think it will if thats the problem and i haven’t heard since.

i thought the same thing but wanted to ask around before burning the place
