Hey guys I own a Netgear ( http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wi-Fi-Gigabit-Router-WNDR4300/dp/B008HO9DK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396807778&sr=8-1&keywords=netgear+n750 ) N750 and it has been acting up. Basically it drops connectivity wired and wireless for 2 seconds then comes back. This isn't so much of an issue for surfin the web as it is for playing BF4 and other games that require constant connection.  So i called Netgear support after determining that my ISP had no reports of connectivity issues. Figured out Netgear service blows and that they only "support" products for 90 days even thought the warranty is 1 yr. Anyways I went through some basic troubleshooting such as re flashing the firmware and dropping the MTU from 1500 to 1490 to 1450 then to 1400. Then the rep had me plug in a global DNS. Then I just unplugged the sucker for a few hours and everything seems fine. What worries me is that my warranty is up on Tues April 8th. Honestly I just really don't want to have to get a new router if this one craps itself on me. Any ideas since I am coming down to the wire on my warranty?

I am not sure how it is where you live but in the UK, ALL products under EU law have a warranty for 2 years even if they only say you have a 90 day warranty you can still get it replaced up until 2 years.

'A two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. In some countries, this may be more, and some manufacturers also choose to offer a longer warranty period.'

Yeah I live in the States

Check to see if a similar law applys.

As for decreasing the MTU I fail to see the persons reason to do this.... If it cannot give a constant connection at 1500 then its a pointless/faulty product.

Also for changing to a global DNS (Assuming 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) I yet again fail to see the reason behind this if you are DCing on online games as well.

What also worries me is how long a RMA would take. And yeah I dont see the point of changing the MTU or the DNS either.
